Shift - Micro resets

INTERFACE DESIGN

UI VISUAL DESIGN

APP DESIGN

Shift is a self-initiated exploration in product design, born from my curiosity about how subtle visual design and motion can influence emotion. I wanted to create something functional and grounded in psychology. Not just another mood tracker, but a tool that helps users actively shift their emotional state in real time. I wanted to explore glassmorphism, motion-based UI, and emotion-driven design, combining calm aesthetics with purposeful interaction.

Use case: Self-study   |   September 2025   |   Visual UI design

Problem statement: The world doesn’t need another mood tracker. It needs a mind shifter.

When you’re overwhelmed, bored, restless, etc., the app helps you “shift state” in 60 seconds through science-backed, aesthetic micro-interventions: breathing visuals, short sensory tasks, quick grounding moments. The app is action-focused, not tracking-focused.
Users open the app, identify how they feel, and perform a guided micro-intervention: breathing exercises, movement prompts, sensory tasks, or visual/audio resets.

The Process: I started with a simple question: “What if mental health UX focused less on tracking and more on transformation?”

I explored emotional motion, haptic cues, and sensory minimalism to make the user experience feel lightweight and intentional. The flow was kept short and intuitive to reduce decision fatigue.
